Time to Communicate

Hi, back on to blogging.

My art practice is my reverence to the natural mystery. I have the honor to be a full-time[ish] freelance designer and artist because it is the job I can hold down. Long-covid has rocked my system since April 2021. Every year, I recover a little bit more and am beyond grateful to my body. Yet, lingering symptoms can show up when I push too hard or when I’m stressed. And I’m usually stressed. That being said, I seem to fall behind my own publication schedule…

A MORE-THAN-HUMAN SOCIETY Zine

Which leads me to feeling like a broken record saying this but A MORE-THAN-HUMAN SOCIETY #4 is finally piecing together. It is overdue but I am thankful to all my supporters who make it possible for us to keep creating intentional work.

The cover art features feline feti of my dear once feral kitten nieces and nephew. I plan to print myself for the first time on this project. Here is a time-lapse of inking them:

There is a poll for favorite color mockups of the cover art with a coloring process video, please vote if you are one of my paid Patreon subscribers!

Next up: MTHS #2 ROOTED is officially sold out of print! We did a run of 250 copies, all hand assembled by yours truly, and it’s pretty astounding that they are out in the world. The archived risograph pdf version is also available to Patreon subscribers.

Zine in neon orange and green on inner pages. Features wetlands with nuclear power plant looming behind. ROOTED is the issue

Even though MTHS #1 COEXIST original run of 100 copies sold out within months of being printed, the revised MTHS #1.2 run of 150 is available as of now on my shop or at events I’ll be tabling at. MTHS #3 AWAKE is as well.

NON-HUMAN NEIGHBORS Zine

NHN #17 is ready to print! This one features a self-portrait during a surreal experience with our bird son and our neighbor Cooper’s Hawk. Curious to see the real spot colors on kraft paper. Planning to use orchid purple and sunflower yellow at the ignite studio risograph printer.

Web Stuff

I am in the midst of messing with my website. Please let me know if anything is glitchy.

There is no contact info on my pages, I removed a form after being spammed continuously and never went back. Looking into updating this but in the meantime, reach out by email to get in touch.

Okay, this post is long enough. I’ll save some for later. – Ren
